85 years as Brooklyn's trusted printer — ink, craft, and grit.
Gothic Press, a family-owned commercial printer in Brooklyn NY, wasn't built on templates or shortcuts. It was built by Fannie and Pete Pompilio in 1939 — two people who believed that print was worth doing right. They started with a letterpress, a small space, and a commitment to doing good work for the people of Brooklyn. That commitment hasn't changed in over 85 years.
Today, their legacy runs through every job that leaves our shop. Second-generation craftsmen. Same address on Avenue Z since 1956. Same commitment to the customer who walks through the door with an idea and needs someone who actually listens — and gives them an honest answer instead of an upsell.
We're not the biggest printer in New York. We never tried to be. What we are is reliable, experienced, and genuinely invested in the outcome of every job we take on. We've printed for newlyweds, for funeral homes, for small businesses just getting started, and for national companies that trust us with their brand. We treat every order the same way: carefully.
Work With UsOur printing services and values haven't changed in 85 years.
Honesty First
We give you a straight answer and a real price. No runaround. No upsell on things you don't need. You'll know exactly what you're getting — paper stock, quantity, cost, and turnaround — before we touch your job. If something about your file or spec is going to cause a problem, we'll tell you before it becomes your problem.
Craft Over Speed
We're fast — most jobs turn around in 3 to 5 business days — but we're never sloppy. Every job goes through a quality check before it leaves our hands. We look at color accuracy, cut registration, and finish. We'd rather take an extra hour than send out something we're not proud of. Rush is available, but quality is never the thing we cut.
Personal Service
You talk to a person. A craftsman who has spent decades in this industry and genuinely cares about your outcome. Not a chat bot. Not a ticket number. Not an offshore call center. A real conversation with someone who knows paper weights, ink coverage, and finishing methods — and can tell you what will actually work best for what you're trying to do.
Part of this neighborhood for nearly 70 years.
We moved to 1317 Avenue Z in 1956 and we haven't left. Sheepshead Bay has changed a lot in that time — the businesses, the faces, the neighborhood itself — but Gothic Press has stayed constant. We've printed for families who've been coming to us for three generations. We've watched small businesses on Emmons Avenue open, grow, and pass to their children.
That's what it means to be a neighborhood business. You show up every day. You do the work right. You're still there when people need you. That's what we've done for 85 years, and it's what we'll keep doing.
As a trusted commercial printer Brooklyn has relied on for over 85 years, we offer full printing services Brooklyn-wide. Whether you're searching for a Brooklyn printer for business documents, screen printing Brooklyn apparel, embroidery Brooklyn uniforms, or custom wedding invitations Brooklyn couples will treasure — Gothic Press handles it all from our Sheepshead Bay location.
